
A step by step guide to replacing your sliding door roller
Over the years, your sliding door carriage and rollers may need to be replaced to keep your doors working smoothly. This ‘how to’ will show you step-by-step how to replace your carriage and roller so your door will feel brand new in no time!
Tools used
You’ll need to keep the following tools on hand before starting the assembly process:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Mallet
- Cloth
- WD-40

Step 1:
Remove the sliding door and place on a flat surface.

Step 2:
Unscrew the carriage screws.

Step 3:
Remove the carriage.

Step 4:
Find your carriage and roller on our website and print out the 1:1 product PDF to ensure you have the correct one.

Step 5:
Purchase carriage and roller from your local Bunnings store.

Step 6:
Place the carriage into the existing door cavity by lightly tapping with a mallet.

Step 7:
Fix the carriage to the door frame with screws.

Step 8:
Retract the roller using a screwdriver.

Step 9:
Clean the track before placing the door back.

Step 10:
Place the door back on it’s track.

Step 11:
Lower the rollers and adjust appropriately.

Step 12:
Test the door to ensure it slides smoothly.
