assemble a knockdown glassX easy steps to setting up your new sleek barn door

One of our most popular offerings at Rolltrak is our knockdown glass barn door, and it’s easy to see why. These statement piece barn doors use modern, industrial design to lend a classy minimalist touch to any indoor space. The matte black brushed steel finish blends seamlessly into all kinds of aesthetics but is also easy to customise if you choose. They hold in place tough and durable tempered glass, available in both clear and frosted variants. With our high quality barn door hardware holding them in place, you can be assured your knockdown glass barn door will maintain its refreshing looks for years to come.

You can install your new knockdown glass barn door by yourself, by following the easy step-by-step instructions and diagrams in our product booklet.

Dimensions: 914 x 2134 x 40mm

Tools used

You’ll need to keep the following tools on hand before starting the assembly process:

  • Drill
  • Tape measure
  • Level
  • Pencil
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • 10mm spade bit
  • 8mm and 10mm drill bit

Assembly

Barn door dimensions: 914 x 2134 x 40mm

Before assembly, always make sure the barn door can fully cover the width and height of the door entryway. The barn door package comes with each of the three panels separate, which first need to be assembled to make the door.

Step 1: Assemble the knockdown glass barn door together by arranging the three panels one above the other as shown on the cover image, and aligning the pre-drilled holes together. Affix the top and middle panels together first with a panel divider in between (see Step 2), then the bottom panel with another panel divider.

Step 2: Use the M5x14mm screws provided (24 in total, 12 for each divider) and screw them into the pre-drilled holes. Now your door is ready to be mounted onto the barn door tracks.

Important: This model of knockdown glass barn door uses top mounted barn door tracks ONLY. The barn door tracks should be installed before attaching the door. Read more about how to install top mount barn door tracks (Rolltrak model R90320).

Step 3: Align the two rollers from the top mount barn door tracks with the pre-drilled holes and sliders in the top of the barn door. The sliders can be adjusted by using the provided hex key.

Step 4: Use the M6x12mm screws provided (4 in total, 2 for each roller) to join the track rollers to the top of the door.

Tip: Avoid over-tightening the screws to keep from damaging the door.

Step 5: Screw the anti-bounce guides onto the top of the door in the holes provided. There will be one each at a suitable distance between the rollers.

Step 6: Carefully hoist the door onto the tracks so the rollers neatly fit in place and roll smoothly along the tracks. Rotate the anti-bounce guides so they fit flush with the door.

Step 7: Attach the floor guides to the floor so they run parallel to the door on either side. Use a 2.5mm drill bit for timber floors, and an 8mm plug for masonry floors.

Step 8: Install door stoppers on either end of the track with 2.5mm gaps between the holes, so the door does not fly off the track. Use blanking plugs to firmly plug the barn door tracks in place (usually provided with the tracks).

Step 9: Finally, use the screws provided and drill to fix the handle to the door. Et voila! Your new knockdown glass barn door installation is complete!
